Description:
This Novice level supports good basic dancing, is good for fast music and is designed for the beginner dancer/competitor. This level is comprised of basic foundation elements, one-and-a-half rotations, New York Walks, and Grapevines. Patterns must not exceed 2 hustle measures and may not contain syncopations.
Guide:
3 and 6 count patterns (one and 2 measure patterns)
Maintain Connection with slight disconnect during transitions (e.g. Sliding Doors, Right to Right Hand Hold or Left, to Left Hand Hold)
Up to 1-1/2 turns with connection
No Consecutive 1-1/2 turn patterns
Suggested Patters:
Cross Body Lead, Wheel, Hesitations, Underarm Turn Combination, New York Walk, Las Vegas, Grapevine, Shadow with Comb, Sliding Door, Cross Body Lead with Underarm Turn, Leader’s Behind the Back Pass, Open Breaks; Any pattern in the IHDA Bronze Manual. (Patters are suggestions. You may use any pattern of you own as long as the guidelines are maintained.)
